About
We built the intranet we kept building for everyone else.
Box started as an AI agency. The product came out of the work.
Where Box came from
Our first clients came to us for customer service AI. Each one had the same shape of problem: years of policies, program rules, past tickets, and product knowledge scattered across documents and tools, and a support team answering the same questions from memory.
So we built the same system, again and again. We pulled the company's knowledge into retrieval and graph databases, wired it to a conversational layer, and made every answer cite its source and refuse when the source didn't back it up. It worked. Support teams handed off the routine questions and kept the hard ones.
What we noticed
Every time we finished one of those builds, the people inside the company started using it themselves. Sales wanted the same thing for deals. Engineering wanted it for runbooks. Product wanted it for decisions nobody wrote down twice. The customer-facing assistant had quietly become the best map of the company that the company itself had.
The pieces were always the same too: connectors into the tools people already used, permission checks so nobody saw what they shouldn't, an evaluation harness so quality was a number, and a model behind an interface so a better one could swap in later.
The product
Box is that system, made into something you install rather than commission. It connects Slack, Drive, Notion, email, Jira, Confluence, and the rest, reads through each person's own permissions, and writes one intranet page per team that keeps itself current. Anyone can read it or ask it a question, and every answer is cited.
It deploys into your own cloud. The code, prompts, and evaluations are yours. Model calls run under zero-retention terms, and we hold no reseller or referral deal with any provider, so the model behind Box is whichever one wins on your questions.
What we still believe
The model is the most replaceable part
Whatever is best today won't be in eighteen months. The durable assets are your knowledge, your permissions, and your evaluations.
Your company's knowledge is yours
Nothing is retained, nothing is trained on, and nothing essential stays behind with us.
Where the name comes from
A box is a promise: complete, contained, and yours to open. Everything your company knows, packed into one place, with nothing essential left outside it.
